This format can be sent through e-mail (which can be problematic for regular binary files). The shar utility supports a wide range of capabilities (compressing, uuencoding, splitting long files for multi-part mailings, providing checksums), which make it very flexible at creating shar files. After the files have been sent, the unshar tool scans mail messages looking for shar files. Unshar automatically strips off mail headers and introductory text and then unpacks the shar files. Install sharutils if you send binary files through e-mail. %prep %setup -q %build export CC="gcc" export CFLAGS="-DSYSV -D_AIX -D_AIX32 -D_AIX41 -D_AIX43 -D_AIX51 -D_ALL_SOURCE -DFUNCPROTO=15 -O -I/opt/freeware/include" ./configure \ --prefix=%{_prefix} \ --infodir=%{_infodir} \ --mandir=%{_mandir} gmake %{?_smp_mflags} %install [ "${RPM_BUILD_ROOT}" != "/" ] && rm -rf ${RPM_BUILD_ROOT} gmake DESTDIR=${RPM_BUILD_ROOT} install /usr/bin/strip ${RPM_BUILD_ROOT}%{_bindir}/* || : gzip --best ${RPM_BUILD_ROOT}%{_infodir}/*.info rm -f ${RPM_BUILD_ROOT}%{_infodir}/dir ( cd ${RPM_BUILD_ROOT} mkdir -p usr/bin cd usr/bin ln -sf ../..%{_bindir}/* . rm -f uu* cd - mkdir -p usr/linux/bin cd usr/linux/bin ln -sf ../../..%{_bindir}/uu* . ) %post /sbin/install-info %{_infodir}/sharutils.info.gz %{_infodir}/dir ||: %preun if [ $1 = 0 ]; then /sbin/install-info --delete %{_infodir}/sharutils.info.gz %{_infodir}/dir ||: fi %clean [ "${RPM_BUILD_ROOT}" != "/" ] && rm -rf ${RPM_BUILD_ROOT} %files %defattr(-,root,system) %doc AUTHORS ChangeLog COPYING NEWS README THANKS TODO %{_bindir}/* %{_infodir}/*info* %{_mandir}/man?/* %{_datadir}/locale/* /usr/bin/* /usr/linux/bin/* %changelog * Sun May 03 2015 Michael Perzl - 4.15.1-1 - updated to version 4.15.1 * Sun Feb 08 2015 Michael Perzl - 4.15-1 - updated to version 4.15 * Sat Dec 13 2014 Michael Perzl - 4.14.2-1 - updated to version 4.14.2 * Sat Oct 19 2013 Michael Perzl - 4.14-1 - updated to version 4.14 * Sun Apr 14 2013 Michael Perzl - 4.13.5-1 - updated to version 4.13.5 * Mon Apr 01 2013 Michael Perzl - 4.13.4-1 - updated to version 4.13.4 * Sat Jan 05 2013 Michael Perzl - 4.13.2-1 - updated to version 4.13.2 * Fri Dec 28 2012 Michael Perzl - 4.13.1-1 - updated to version 4.13.1 - changed to GCC instead of IBM XL C/C++ as otherwise compilation fails * Fri Apr 29 2011 Michael Perzl - 4.11.1-1 - updated to version 4.11.1 * Sun Feb 06 2011 Michael Perzl - 4.11-1 - updated to version 4.11 * Mon Aug 30 2010 Michael Perzl - 4.10-1 - updated to version 4.10 * Tue Jul 06 2010 Michael Perzl - 4.9-2 - removed dependency on gettext >= 0.17 * Thu Mar 04 2010 Michael Perzl - 4.9-1 - updated to version 4.9 * Thu Jun 26 2008 Michael Perzl - 4.7-1 - first version for AIX V5.1 and higher
